Superfood Smoothie Duo

It is fig time – and I often use it to make smoothies because stuck inside a glas they are just so pretty. But this post isn’t about figs. It is actually about two delicious and very healthy smoothie recipes you should definitely try!

Smoothie Duo

Especially in summer I love to make smoothies. With all the seasonal food you can make some delicious and refreshing drinks. For instance we have a couple of peach trees in our garden. I am telling you: nothing beats a freshly picked peach in a smoothie. As alternative nectarines also taste really good in it and add some extra flavour.

What I also discovered is that apples in chocolate smoothies do taste nice! I always thought it’s a weird combo but it actually isn’t.

Smoothie Duo YourSuperfoods

To add a little extra boost I like to use superfood  powders in my smoothies as I otherwise tend to forget them and they just sit in my pantry without being used. With that being said, some of my favorite superfoods are actually the mixes of YourSuperfoods. Why? Because they are practical and provide the quality I expect. You can save yourself a lot of open little packages in your pantry if buying a combo of your favorite superfoods straight away. In the recipes below I used the Muscle Power Mix and the Energy Bomb Mix  – but I also LOVE the Chocolate Lover Mix total and can only recommend it! Furthermore I use the Skinny Protein quite often for my green smoothies. You can also use the discount code ‘TANITH15‘ to get 15% discount in the online shop 🙂

Let us have a look at Maca for instance (ingredient list below). Due to its health benefits I like to consume it on a regular basis. Instead of buying Acai, Maca and Guarana (has a similar effect like coffee but is healthier) separately and spend tons of money I can just purchase the Energy Bomb Mix and I have the ideal mixture supplied. Of course you can also use them for other things than smoothies: to give you an example I also like to stir in the energy bomb in my muesli or porridge and make little bliss balls with it.

Just for your information the ingredient lists of the mixes I used below:

  • Muscle Power Mix: Organic Rice Protein, Organic Pea Protein, Organic Maca, Organic Lucuma, Organic Banana Powder
  • Energy Bomb Mix: Acai*, Guarana*, Maca*, Lucuma*, Banana*Powder. *Organic

For reasons of transparency I’d like to say that this blog post was written in collaboration with YourSuperfoods. With this being said I can assure you that I ONLY recommend products and brands I really believe in and use myself.

Kick Starter Smoothie

Now back to the smoothies. They are:

  • refreshing and delicious
  • the ideal start to kick off your day
  • very healthy and rich in nutrients
  • perfect to take away

In each of the smoothies you will also find a superfood in it’s natural form: turmeric and beetroot. Fresh turmeric can be found in organic stores and sometimes asian shops as well . When cutting and peeling them one should be really careful as both of them have an intense coloring power and therefore like ti make stains on everything. I think I do not need to talk about the health benefits of both here as it’s quite well known that they are really health beneficial.

Sunshine Smoothie

One last trick I want to mention here I use with all of my smoothies: they have to be cold! Warm smoothies simply don’t taste as good and refreshing. To achieve a cold result I always add some kind of frozen fruit or ice cubes to my smoothies.

I hope you give them a try! If you are looking for more breakfast ideas or inspiration in general have a look at my recipe index 🙂
