As promised here is the recipe for these absolutely delicious burger patties. I’m actually writing this post from the other side of the world as I’m currently traveling in Australia but I didn’t want to keep this recipe from you any longer. These days you can find vegan burgers in many places and organic supermarkets often have premade ones in the fridge section. But homemade is still always the best, isn’t it?
The good thing about the patties: you can easily put them into the freezer if you made too many. When the next burger party comes up you simply have to pop them into the oven and you’re good to go.
Most burger patties are made on the base of soy, kidney beans or green spelt. After trying different versions I came up with this sweet potato recipe. I baked them in the oven because I didn’t want to fry them in additional fat. If you like them more crispy on the outside I would recommend frying them in the pan with a little bit of coconut oil.
Chili hummus and avocado go just perfect with these patties but a vegan BBQ-sauce is also a good choice. You can go as wild as you want with the toppings.
